Is your house in a perpetual state of disarray?
Do your kids choose to throw their worst tantrums when you’re out in public?
Have you ever hidden in the pantry to gobble down a candy bar so you didn’t have to share?
Do you worry that every decision you make is the wrong one?
Are you lonely?
Do you feel like everyone else has it together while you’re secretly falling apart?
If you’ve answered yes to any of these questions, you’ve come to the right place.
A few years back I caught a friend off-guard and showed up at her house before she had time to tidy up. Every other time I’d been there, the place had been spotless. As I looked around at breakfast dishes still on the table, shoes in a heap by the door, and piles of unopened mail on the counter, I felt an overwhelming sense of relief. Maybe she was more like me than I thought.
That was the moment I realized it was time to stop pretending. It was the moment I realized that the people I like the most, who are the easiest to connect with, are the people who are real. Who know they’re not perfect and are okay with that. Who try their best, but still screw up.
And that is how Oh, Honestly! came to be. Here I share my real life, not the Pinterest perfect version, in an effort to connect with women who are tired of faking it and who just need to know that there’s someone else out there who struggles with the same things that they do.
I hope you’ll choose to join me. You may be surprised by how refreshing it is to drop the act and get real!
