You’re floating through summer, enjoying the slower pace, the days spent at the beach, the nights by a campfire. You feel as though it’s barely begun and then suddenly, BAM! Summer is over.
You’re buying school supplies for your kids, trying pants on them for when the days get cooler, and wondering how the heck it went by so fast.
So the next time you find yourself wondering if summer is truly on its way out, just look for these signs of fall and you’ll know for sure.
7 Signs That Fall is on Its Way
7. It’s suddenly acceptable to light scented candles again and everyone’s house smells like apples and cinnamon.
6. The petunias in everyone’s garden disappear and are replaced by mums.
5. Those tacky scarecrow decorations start sprouting up everywhere.
4. You have a sudden, overwhelming desire to wear a cozy sweater.
3. One word: Zucchini.
2. Everywhere you look, women are wearing boots.

I’m torn between wishing fall would come and remembering what a brutal winter we had so wishing summer would never end!

I feel exactly the same way. I love love love fall, but winter was so long last year and summer was so short.

Did you see all the pumpkin spice latte articles? Poor Starbucks! I love scarecrows by the way!
Lauren says
I’ve seen lots of people all excited for their pumpkin spice coffee (and I saw your post about it having lots of sugar. I’m glad I don’t do Starbucks!!)
I agree that the scarecrows are kinda cute, but the decorations I really like are the ones with mums, pumpkins, hay bales, and cornstalks. I guess I like all the natural stuff 🙂

PUMPKIN SPICE LATTES!! They’re coming back early you know! Of course you know. Haha, I can’t wait! I love fall, I’ve had my boots out ready to be worn for like 12 months now! BRING ON THE CRUNCHY LEAVES!
Lauren says
I love fall too! Summer seemed short this year, but I caved and put up my decorations yesterday. Might as well stretch it out and enjoy it before the long winter!

I love fall! Boots, zucchini, sweaters… they all are great! Honestly, I don’t actually drink coffee. I love the smell of coffee, but I just never got into it.
Lauren says
I didn’t drink coffee until I became a mom. Now I look forward to it each morning 🙂

My husband never drank coffee until he started being the stay at home Dad and doing his bachelors online. Lol
Lauren says
I wasn’t a big coffee drinker until kids either 😛

Hahah, #1 makes me laugh. I love PSLs too, but people go crazy on Facebook about them! When I was in school #2 is funny too, I would always laugh on the first “cold” day all the girls would show up in scarves and boots.

I love this! It’s funny to see how much everyone loves the beginning of fall and loathes the end of it!
Lauren says
We all know what’s coming at the end… winter. UGH!!! Haha.
